\nGarden State<\/i> ist ein waschechter Deb\u00fctentenfilm. Da packt einer alle Themen hinein, die ihn seit der Pubert\u00e4t bewegen. Viel Weltschmerz, alle Scherze, die seit Jahren lagern, werden auf Kameratauglicheit gepr\u00fcft und am Schlu\u00df wird Nathalie Portman vor laufender Kamera einen satter Zungenku\u00df gegeben.
\nEine Story hat der Film so gut wie nicht, abgesehen von der alten Geschichte von der Heimkehr des verlorenen Sohnes in sein Provinzkaff. Deshalb tut sich die Promotion in Deutschland auch so schwer, einen Aufh\u00e4nger f\u00fcr den Film zu finden. Mit der Ambitioniertheit des Filmes zu werben, das verschreckt die jungen Scrubs<\/i>-Fans. Deshalb ist der Aufh\u00e4nger all\u00fcberall: He, das ist die Geschichte von nem Typen, der seit fr\u00fchester Kindheit nur auf Psychopharmaka ist. Eine Art Trainspotting<\/i>, nur jugendfreier und witziger.
\nZach Breff hat den Charme eines jungen Hundes. Naiv, verspielt, vertrauensselig, verletzbar und im Gesicht noch so babyspeckig glatt und unversehrt. Und so einer kommt zur\u00fcck in die Heimat und revidiert sein bisheriges Leben. Er ist erfolgloser Schauspieler, nur keiner seiner fr\u00fcheren Gef\u00e4hrten ist erfolgreicher. Selbst der Gl\u00fcckspilz, der ein Patent f\u00fcr lautloses Klettband teuer verkauft hat, haust in einer Riesenvilla und zieht sich sein Verm\u00f6gen durch die Nase. Mitte 20 zu sein ist ein interessantes Alter. Man verabschiedet sich so langsam von der Vorstellung, genial und besonders zu sein und es d\u00e4mmert einem, da\u00df nur noch harte Arbeit zum Erfolg verhilft (was man dann bis zum Alter von 40 bis zum Exze\u00df durchzieht, um dann zu merken, da\u00df es auch nix bringt).
\nWas hat den Reiz des Filmes ausgemacht? Situationen, die komisch beginnen und dann ins tragische kippen und umgekehrt. Ein Gesp\u00fcr f\u00fcr Ruhe, Pr\u00e4senz und Langsamkeit. Slow feelings eben. Keine Albernheit auslassen (ein onanierender Mops!, ein steifer toter Hamster!) und doch nicht nach dem Beifall schielen, den sie ausl\u00f6sen werden. Ein ungeheuer durchl\u00e4ssiger Hauptdarsteller, der sich der Kamera wirklich hingibt. M\u00e4rchenhaftes. Das gestrandete Boot am Ende der Welt, der unkommentierte Flugzeugabsturz, die jungen Leute in der Horror-Villa vor dem Kamin.
\nHm, entweder da w\u00e4chst ein Riesentalent heran (bitte gib dir Zeit, zu wachsen!) oder das wars und er macht in den n\u00e4chsten Jahren wieder Comedy, was auch ok. w\u00e4re.
